WSTFA Golf Tournament Part 1
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson with today’s Fruit Grower report. As summer draws to a close, the annual Washington State Tree Fruit Association Golf Tournament is sold out and ready to kick off next week.
WSTFA Director of Communications and Events Tim Kovis says the tournament is almost here and every foursome is packed for another successful outing…
KOVIS … “So we’ll be hosting our 29th annual golf tournament in East Wenatchee at the Highlander Golf Tournament on Tuesday.”
Highlander Golf Course is just east of town on 8th Street SW.
Funds raised during the tournament, says Kovis, are earmarked for the future of the industry…
KOVIS… “This golf tournament raises money to support certain scholarships at WAEF and other groups that are named after fruit tree leaders.”
And as always, says Kovis, with all the seats filled, they are expecting yet another great tournament for players and sponsors this year…
KOVIS… “Yeah, you know, we have our traditional sponsors and teams playing, but we’re always excited when we have new people who want to get involved through sponsors and have a tournament presence. So it’s always a fun bunch and new faces every year with old friends who have been supporting us for many, many years.
Tickets for the tournament barbecue are still available and donations can be made, both on the WSTFA website at www.wstfa.org
Tune in tomorrow for more about the 29th Annual Washington State Tree Fruit Association Golf Tournament at Highlander Golf Course in East Wenatchee.
