SBU launches information campaign to fight Russian disinformation – KyivPost


The Security Service of Ukraine, in partnership with the Center for Strategic Communications “Stratcom Ukraine”, launches a three-month information campaign “You have information about the danger – Call the SBU”, which calls residents of eight regions to report cases that may pose a threat to national security.

“The main objective of the campaign is the fight against separatism, the recruitment of Ukrainian citizens by foreign intelligence services, as well as the fight against the spread of counterfeits, disinformation and propaganda from the aggressor country. The campaign will last three months and will take place in areas of Ukraine which, in addition to the JFO area, are of great interest to foreign intelligence services. These are the regions of Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhia and Kherson, ”reports the SBU website.

Citizens are invited to report data on possible threats to the national security of Ukraine on the SBU hotline by telephone: +380 (800) 50 14 82.

“Our aim is to block enemy propaganda and the activities of Russian agents to incite ethnic conflicts, create artificial conflicts and recruit local citizens,” said SBU spokesman Artem Dekhtiarenko.

The project is funded by the US government in cooperation with the SBU, the Strategic Communication Center “Stratkom Ukraine”, with which the SBU has signed a memorandum of cooperation and understanding, will be responsible for its implementation.
