Fruit Bites June 14-16 Precision Ag
BL: Welcome back to another “Fruit Bites” presented by Valent USA. With us, there is again Allison Walston from Valent. And this week, Allison, we’re talking about the next precision farming technology.
AW: Precision agriculture puts technology at the forefront of fruit production. As you may know, Valent is launching a new thinning material for apples and peaches called Accede. We simultaneously use precision agriculture to deepen the analysis of data from years of trial work. For example, there are hundreds of varieties of peaches and nectarines, and they respond differently to Accede thinning. So we analyze the data to answer What are the variables that most influence efficiency?
BL: What can data analysis reveal?
AW: We can write better and more concise label usage instructions. Help provide better technical information to growers and determine if it is possible or necessary to develop a model application schedule. Learning and being able to predict how varieties of peaches, nectarines or apples respond to Accede thinning is how Valent uses precision agriculture to support our brands.
BL: Well, thank you Allison. Join us next time for Fruit Bites, presented by Valent. Until then, I’m Bob Larson.
