Joey Spicola of ClicR Technologies talks about making the American Dream come true.

When I had a ranch in West Texas we were a ranch, we always had to weigh cattle. Very frustrating as I had 7000 heads and I don’t know how much anything weighed. Guess what? I was paid by weight. We had to get the cowboys in, load them onto a trailer, then move them to a scale, get a tare on the vehicles and the trailer, find a way because I had to ship at 800 pounds. It was either too light or too heavy. When we were coming back from the scale one day, I looked at my son and said, we’re not going to do this anymore. I said, what are you talking about? I said, let’s take a picture and leave. It was 2005. We worked really hard and it seemed my mind was ahead of the technology. We had a hard time trying to find a scientist and we found one. So from 2005 to 2021 we worked on the cattle and then we worked on the pigs because we got a call from Smithfield Hams, can you help us? And they harvest 20 million animals a year. They had to be able to get a weight. And the deeper I got into it, Mr. David, the more it seemed to me that it was a really global, really global need. So we put a lot of resources into it. The people who had the money worked very, very hard.

We’ll hear more details about the technology in another episode, but basically a camera takes a photo of an animal and there’s a paradigm that then analyzes the image and produces the animal’s weight with 3% accuracy. . ClicR Technologies
